Everything happens in one visit to our Redruth shop.

Bring your machine in

Visit us in Redruth with your machine, original box and accessories if you have them.

We value it

Our team will carry out an honest appraisal and give you a trade-in value during your visit.

Choose your new machine

Browse our range, try out any models you like and choose your upgrade.

Leave with your new machine

If it's in stock, take it home the same day. If not, we'll order it to the shop or deliver to your address.

How we value your machine

What affects your trade-in value

Our team takes several factors into account when valuing your machine. Here's what we look at and don't worry if your machine isn't in perfect condition, we'd still love to see it.

✓ Working condition - if it isn't working, do still bring it in
✓ General wear and tear, including stitch count if applicable
✓ Whether the original box and manual are present
✓ Whether original accessories are present and in working order

Based on this assessment, your machine will be graded as one of the following:

Minimum £50 guaranteed

ℹ️ Part exchange requires a minimum spend of £350 on a new machine and is available to customers visiting our Redruth showroom only. Industrial sewing machines cannot be accepted for part exchange.

What happens to your old machine

Your old machine doesn't go to waste. Our team fully inspects, services and repairs it to be sold on as a pre-loved machine for another sewer to enjoy. If it's reached the end of its working life, we remove any usable parts and responsibly recycle the rest.

Questions we get asked most

A few things customers often want to know before coming in.

Can you part-exchange a machine I didn't buy from you?

Yes - we accept all brands for part exchange, regardless of where you bought your machine. If you're not sure whether yours qualifies, just give us a call before coming in.

My machine isn't working - can I still part-exchange it?

Yes, please still bring it in. A machine that isn't working will be graded accordingly, but we guarantee a minimum of £50 trade-in value regardless of condition. Our team will assess it honestly and let you know what it's worth.

Do I need to bring the original box and accessories?

Not essential, but they can increase the trade-in value of your machine. If you have the original box, manual and accessories, bring them along - it all counts towards the final grade.

Can I buy my new machine on the same day?

If the model you want is in stock, yes, you can leave with your new machine the same day. If it's not in stock, we'll order it for you to collect in store or have it delivered to your home address.

I'm visiting Cornwall on holiday - can I part-exchange and have the new machine sent home?

Yes, absolutely - we can arrange delivery of your new machine to your home address. Just call ahead before your visit so we can make sure the team has time to help you on the day.

My machine is very old - can I still part-exchange it?

If your machine pre-dates 1980, please give us a call before coming in and we'll let you know if we can help. Call us on 01209 216 942.

What if I change my mind and want my old machine back?

We hold your old machine for 14 days, so please contact us as soon as possible if you decide to return your new machine. We'll do our best to return your old machine, but in some cases this may not be possible. Any refund will cover the amount paid for the new machine only. See our returns terms for full details.
